Books for Parents of Children from Birth to 6 Months
NOTE: There are some books that seem to fit into more than one category on the right and may be listed more than once. Also, because children do not all move from one stage to another at the same age, look at the books for Stage Two as well as these for infants.

The Five Love Languages of Children by Gary Chapman and Ross Campbell, M.D.
ISBN 1881273652
Chapman and Campbell assert that children respond best to one of five modes of communication: physical touch, quality time, words of affirmation, gifts, and acts of service. Recognizing and using these "love languages" can help parents guide their children in a way they can best understand.
The ideas aren't valuable only for children, but for understanding how often the different ways in which we respond to others can get tangled in the different ways we want to experience love and connection with others.
